You don't actually "have" to connect your steam account to bethesda. NMM is optional, the in-game mod manager actually sets your plugins for you, just like NMM; although, Nexus Mod Manager is a better alternative, since It's able to install and uninstall mods better than using Bethesda's in-game load order manager, and mod manager. There shouldn't really be any conflicts, but bethesda's websites sometimes fails to install some assets.
Kennedy View Profile View Posts. So I finally figured out the username and password for my Bethesda account, then I downloaded mods there because they were not in the base game modding menu. Then I went back into the game discovering there were no mods in the load order. The reason why I don't just use Nexus is because I don't know how to download it since its very confusing and I couldn't find a automatic download, although that was about half a year ago so it may have changed.

However, the CK crashes almost immediately after loading even when running as Admin. It will load for a few second and look like it is loading only to crash a few moments later. Any advice?
